Transferring a .com/.net/.org/.biz/.info/.mobi domain name to Castlerock
- Make sure your domain is unlocked and you have access to the admin contact email address.
- Obtain your domains unique EPP authorisation key from your current registrar, normally this is emailed to you.
- Place the transfer order for your domain on our website entering the authorisation key when asked.
- Approve the domain transfer request which will be emailed to you shortly afterwards.

What is WHOIS?
WHOIS is a widely used Internet record listing. It identifies domain owners and how to make contact with them. Domain name registration and ownership is regulated by The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. (ICANN)
What is domain privacy and do I really need it?
Every single domain name has a WHOIS listing. The WHOIS listing is a searchable database of all registered domains on the internet – it is publicly available. Without Domain Privacy, or WHOIS Privacy Protection, all your contact information (address, phone number, name, etc) is available to the public.
How do I set up WHOIS Protection and what is the cost?
Castlerock provides FREE Domain Privacy for our clients on all supported domains. When you purchase a domain from us, we will automatically grant you WHOIS Privacy for life. If you’ve transferred in a domain name, you will have to enable the privacy setting from within the Control Panel. This can be done easily under “Domain Management” -> “Manage Privacy”.
Please note, however, that some country-level domains in the European Union do not support WHOIS protection.If at any point you're stuck or unsure around the Domain Privacy feature on offer, please do not hesitate to reach out to us by logging a support ticket and we'll get straight back to you.
